ETBI and COGG partner to host the national gathering of teachers sharing knowledge through the medium of Irish.
Education and Training Boards Ireland (ETBI) and An Chomhairle um Oideachas Gaeltachta agus Gaelscolaíochta (COGG) are delighted to announce Fóram Feasa Beo 2026, a national gathering of teachers committed to sharing knowledge, expertise and best practice through the medium of Irish. Register here.

Taking place in Coláiste Cois Life, Leamhcán, Baile Átha Cliath, on 19 September 2026, Fóram Feasa Beo will bring together teachers from Gaelcholáistí, post-primary schools in Gaeltacht areas and Aonaid Lán-Ghaeilge from across the country. The meeting aims to create opportunities for professional learning and peer-to-peer collaboration.
Fóram Feasa was developed with one key priority: that teachers learn best from one another. Since its beginnings in 2020, the Fóram Feasa community has built a space where Irish-medium educators meet regularly to exchange ideas, discuss curriculum developments, showcase classroom practice and support one another in delivering quality education through Irish.
Now, Fóram Feasa Beo 2026 is on the way – and teachers from Irish-medium post-primary schools from all corners of the country are invited to take part in an event that will be inspirational, and provide support and an opportunity for valuable networking.
What’s in store for participants?
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Engage in subject-specific workshops with sectoral experts
- Trial and receive new Irish-medium teaching resources for free
- Meet other teachers delivering the same subject
Event highlights include:
- Lightning talks on “The use of AI in immersion education”
- Insights from sectoral experts
- Practical workshops sharing best practice
- Showcase of newly developed textbooks and resources by COGG
- Travel allowance for participants
- Networking opportunities through discussion groups and information stations
- “Four Stations, Four Chances!” – Interactive workshops
Launch of the Fóram Feasa 2026/27 Programme:
This event will mark the official launch of the weekly Fóram Feasa programme for the 2026/27 school year, which will run online every Thursday evening from October onwards.
Collaboration at the Heart of the Forum:
This event is co-organised by ETBI and COGG, with support from Limerick Education Centre and ESCI.
Together, we are committed to a bright future for Irish-medium education, providing resources, ideas and inspiration for T1 teachers and school leaders nationwide.
Educational Policy & Development Officer – Post Primary with ETBI, Gean Gilger, described the gathering, “Foram Feasa Beo is the beginning of a sustained programme of professional support, rather than a single date in the calendar. The day in Coláiste Cois Life launches a full year of weekly online Fóram Feasa sessions and guarantees that the expertise and resources shared on September 19th support our teachers throughout the school year. We believe in this model of teachers supporting teachers, múinteoirí ag tacú le múinteoirí eile.”
Welcoming the enhanced offering for 2026/2027, COGG Chief Executive, Jacqueline Ní Fhearghusa, described Fóram Feasa as ‘an excellent opportunity for teachers to exchange best practice, share resources and sampla the best of COGG’s textbooks and resources for the new school year.’
