ETB Open Call for Employee Career Stories

In response to challenges highlighted by ETBs in relation to the recruitment of staff, a project team of the ETB Communications Network is currently designing an advertising campaign focused on our employer brand. The ETB sector is working collaboratively on this project supported by ETBI. The purpose of the campaign will be to:

  • Raise awareness of ETBs as an employer brand.
  • Attract more applicants for ETB jobs.
  • Raise awareness of ETBs amongst our target groups (graduates, returners, student teachers, OSD technical experts/professionals etc.).
  • Increase traffic to ETB recruitment pages.
  • Attract more diverse applicants.

We need your help!

As part of this campaign, we want to feature a broad range of ETB staff to show the breadth of employment opportunities across schools, further education and training, organisation support and development and youth.

To represent the inclusive and diverse nature of ETBs, we want to feature staff who represent Ireland today. We are particularly interested in stories that showcase the excellent work being done in education and training across our ETBs and how this has had an impact on the lives of our learners.

We’d like the campaign to feature five of the following:

  • A craft instructor / training centre instructor who is ideally a former apprentice.
  • A teacher in a post-primary school who is potentially a young principal or deputy principal.
  • A special needs assistant who may have retrained and moved from a different career.
  • A specialist from Organisational Support and Development (OSD) who works in one of the following areas: energy management / sustainability, buildings / property management, procurement, recruitment, governance or cyber security.
  • An Outdoor Education and Training instructor who may have upskilled from a similar field.
  • A guidance counsellor.
  • A Youthreach worker.

We would welcome staff who meet the above criteria but could also fulfil one of the below:

  • A staff member from a border county
  • A graduate-age teacher (22-26)
  • A gaelgeoir
  • A mature staff member (representing someone who has returned to work / made a career change later in life)

For the campaign we would like to our content to feature:

  • A mix of rural and urban regions
  • Diversity of gender, ethnicity and disability

ETBs are a great place to work, we have locations in every county in Ireland and this is the perfect opportunity to highlight this to future prospective employees.

We are open to hearing staff stories that fit the above profiles, however, they will need to meet some criteria:

  • Be a current employee of an ETB.

  • Be willing to participate in any media / promotion relating to the campaign.
