Development of an Identity, Multi-Belief and Values Education (IMBVE) Student Workbook
Duration of Post: Fixed-term occasional hourly position from 1 December 2026 to 31 March 2027.
Hours: Total project allocation is 150 hours
Background to the Role
Identity, Multi-Belief and Values Education (IMBVE) is the Patrons’ Curriculum for ETB post-primary schools at Junior Cycle. It was published in 2024. ETBI has responsibility for supporting the enactment of IMBVE through the provision of professional learning and curriculum resources.
Professional development supports to date have included:
To date, support has included face-to-face induction and CPD, online professional learning opportunities, the development of a dedicated website, and the publication of a teachers’ resource booklet (available to applicants on request). Feedback from teachers has consistently highlighted the need for additional, bespoke classroom resources to support learning, teaching and assessment in IMBVE.
In response to this identified need, ETBI has determined that the development of an IMBVE Student workbook is warranted. This resource will provide a structured and accessible learning support for students while complementing and reinforcing the guidance contained within the existing teachers’ resource booklet.
The workbook will consolidate current curriculum supports, promote greater consistency in the enactment of IMBVE across schools, and enhance the teaching and learning experience for teachers and students.
