Statement by Michael Moriarty on ASTI vote for industrial action
“I am most disappointed by the support for industrial action as revealed in today’s ASTI ballot result. Ultimately students in the affected schools will suffer. I’m not sure what strategy is at play other than a battle of wills.
Benefits for new teachers have been achieved by other trade unions under the Lansdowne Road Agreement which ASTI has rejected. School management must prepare contingency arrangements for those schools affected by industrial action”.
