ETBI Welcomes Breakthrough Proposal to Resolve Dispute over Junior Cycle Reforms
Education and Training Boards Ireland (ETBI) welcomes the announcement of an agreement between the Department of Education and Skills and the leadership of the second-level teaching unions on a proposal which is intended to resolve the on-going dispute over the implementation of Junior Cycle reforms.
Michael Moriarty, General Secretary, of ETBI states:
“We are very pleased that the teaching unions and the Department have agreed a blueprint for resolving the Junior Cycle dispute. We endorse the principles underlying the proposal which will be presented to the executives of the ASTI and the TUI next Friday. When the proposal is published on Friday evening, we hope that it will provide for an effective response to the real needs of students at Junior Cycle.”
