Promotion and Appeal Procedures for appointment to Assistant Principal, Special Duties and Programme Co-ordinator Posts

A revised appeal procedure for appointment to Assistant Principal, Special Duties and Programme Co-ordinator Posts in ETBs was introduced under Circular 25/2016 following an extensive review process by management bodies and unions at national level.

CL 25/2016 comprises two parts:

Part A: Promotion procedure for appointment to Assistant Principal, Special Duties and Programme Co-ordinator posts.

Part B: Appeal procedure in respect of competitions for appointment to Assistant Principal, Special Duties and Programme Co-ordinator posts

Circular 25/2016 applies to competitions for the aforementioned posts advertised from 4 April 2016.

Teacher Appeal Forms:

Teachers who may be considering appealing a post, should read the circular and the Advice Note carefully before completing the appeal form.

Appeals will only be accepted on the new PDF teacher appeal form within the timeframe for the “Appeal Date”.

ETBs responding to appeals should use the management response to appeal form on this website.

Documentation (if any) supplied by management should be scanned and supplied as attachments in the email which generates once the management response form is completed.  This email is submitted automatically to porappeals@etbi.ie.

You must supply any supporting documentation by the timeframe as per the circular letter.
